This is a wonderful time of the year to be with family and friends. However, we know there is a challenge for this to happen and that is, simply having the time to be with others. We get very busy doing all sorts of things. Is there a solution? One solution might be to slow down, just enjoy the company of others.
In a recent get-together in Rome, Msgr. Fernando Ocariz, the Prelate of Opus Dei, encouraged people to take advantage of the current liturgical season of Advent. "Your whole day should in some way be like the time of Advent, a time of expectation, a time to foster the desire to find Christ." The Advent season, he said, is an especially good time for trying to be more concerned about others and less concerned about oneself. "We may find ourselves pressed for time, but we can always find an opportunity to smile at someone or exchange a few words."
Merry Christmas to you and your families! We appreciate your prayers and support.
